Last weekend was the Flag's Art Walk......... so I went to the Beaver Street Gallery.
There I had met artist Al Hinton. Not only is he a long time professor of art at the University of Michigan, he's also a widely recognized mixed-media artist. He uses modern materials such as industrial polymers, plastics, silica, and metal, to create abstract collages. His work often explores ancient symbols & mythology 2 find new meaning & spiritual significance. We talked 4 a while about his work + I fell in love with his deep adoration 4 nature, his interest in shadowing within 3D objects on a 2D plane, and his generosity towards his community + others less fortunate to art education.
He gave me his contact info & invited me 2 a possible showing at his studio in May......... I hope it works out, I would love 2 see his studio + more of his work!
