Something Vs. Nothing

I went walking through the New England woods the other day as thick as molasses and I stopped beside a large tree who's branches seemed to have ran forever! It was that moment where I had felt complete. American. I felt as American as apple pie! I was compelled to chop that poor soul down and set it free! But what I found inside was a sight to see; what lied beneath the woodcut: a deer resting, and Franz Marc calling his boyfriend collect on the telephone! As I stand there, in full view of the scene, I began thinking of all the sacred questions that have looped around my brain over and over and over..and over: How many rings does a tree need to feel truly engaged to Earth? How many rings does it take for Franz Marc's boyfriend to pick up? How does a horse see the world? And how long has this planet been cubistic?

thinking of coming back to this-

my blog
it is just a very small corner of what life is and what life looks like
but corners also need cultivation, not just long stretches
and it helps me to have a place my thoughts and movements can be pushed as if through a sieve
and for that place to be a shared place

Been listening to a lot of jazz lately... it can really make your Sunday feel complete.

Also, This documentary is pretty amazing.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTEN!

My sister's nineteenth birthday is today. I wanted to post an older picture of us when we were kids, but I can't seem to find my pile of old photos. Either way, I hope my sister had a wonderful day.

LOST MY NOTEBOOK TODAY! Losing my notebook with all my thoughts + ideas + lyrics + poems + doodles & etc. can fill me with a lot of anxiety. I keep that little notebook everywhere I go, because you never really know when inspiration hits you- I also have a terrible memory. I'm very scatterbrained, and to make the day easier I write everything down. Trying not to let it get to me... maybe I was meant for a fresh new start. I'm feeling like it will find it's way back to me someway...
