New Project: The Begining of a Beautiful Process
I've been working//planning//testing a new project of mine. Any feedback? Very similar to what I've been doing before, but for the first time, I actually had finished a piece that I felt content with. I'm fully enjoying the process of this project and I'm excited to make more.....after a while, the frustration//confrontation is something that I've learned to accept as part of the project though not its purpose. I finished this piece a bit ago, but have been so busy I hadn't had the time to take a photo. More on the way!
Blind
So yesterday I spent an awkward 30 seconds staring at a woman I work with until she laughed and asked if I was okay............"I'm sorry, I wasn't sure if you were looking at me." was the only response I could give. It's amazing how long I've lasted without really being able to see.....although driving can be fun I think it's time to get some specs. I have these glasses I had gotten from my mom when she was younger........should I bring them back?
Found My Way Back Home
Took a trip back home to NH to see my family. When I had arrived in Boston, I took an impulsive bus ride to Manchester to revisit the art institute I once attended.................as soon as I left the bus station, a couple of odd fellows (drug addicts) start yelling profanities and making fun of the way I was dressed. Some things NEVER change I tell ya!
Went back to old diner I spent most of my time in when I was in art school. I had gotten the one thing I enjoy more than sunlight......PIE!!!!!! [heavenly]
I later ventured home to a wonderful, warm welcome....but I'm not talking about my fam, I'm talking about what was taken out of the oven.....................

Eggplant Rolls with Smoked Mozzarella and Basil
Ingredients:
1 large eggplant
3 tbsp olive oil
6 ounces smoked mozzarella
2 plum tomatoes
8 large basil leaves
salt and ground pepper to taste
1. Cut eggplant lengthways into slices. Sprinkle salt on slices to extract the bitter juices. Rinse and pat dry
2. Preheat boiler and line rack with foil. Place eggplant slices on grill rack and brush with oil. Broil until golden brown, flip//turn over once.
3. Remove eggplant slices from broiler, then place mozzarella, tomato, and basil in the center of eggplant and season to taste. Fold eggplant over the filling and broil again seam-side down and heat until mozzarella melts
Delicious Treat!
Lately I've been getting this strong tingling feeling in my solar plexus chakra.....I'm not too sure what this feeling is but I think my power drive is growing. I've had a lot strange and amazing things happen to me lately, and I've learned a great deal of lessons throughout all of it. Out of all of the chakras to feel like this, it just happens to be the one that honors the life force....I guess all I can say is UNIVERSE, GIVE ME ALL YOU GOT!
A Bit of Art History
Man Ray was an influential artist, best known for his avant-garde photography. He was a leading figure (and the only American) to play a significant role in the Dada and Surrealist movements.
Man Ray first concentrated on painting and later became friends with Dadaist artist Marcel Duchamp, who persuaded him to move to Paris. There, Man Ray moved in highly productive artistic circles full of Surrealists and Dadaists. He began taking photographs of his own (and other people’s) works of art and gradually became more interested in the photographic images than in the originals – which he regularly threw away or lost once he had photographed them.
By this time, commercial and art photography had become his main source of income and he was displaying an unbridled curiosity about the potential of the medium. This prompted a great urge to experiment and the discovery or rediscovery of various techniques, such as the famous "rayographs" (photograms made without the use of a camera). Man Ray left Paris to escape the Nazi occupation of France and moved to Los Angeles, where he abandoned commercial photography to concentrate entirely on painting and photographic experimentation. However, his next real surge of creativity occurred only after he returned to Paris; and much later died in 1976.
Very much ahead of his time................
[DESTINY] is a feeling you have that you know something about yourself nobody else does. the picture you have in your own mind of what you're about will come true. It's a kind of thing you have to keep to your own self, because it's a fragile feeling, and if you put it out there, then someone will kill it. It's best to keep that all inside." -Bobby Dylan
My throat was bothering me today.......hope I'm not catching what Ben had. Taking it easy today. It feels good to be doing a bit of relaxing with some good music, a nice big bowl of creamy tomato soup, a bit of reading & frequent cat naps.
